Objection."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Werd u veroordeeld zonder dat u op de zitting aanwezig of vertegenwoordigd was, dan spreekt men van een verstekvonnis. Daartegen staat verzet open: uw zaak wordt dan opnieuw behandeld door dezelfde rechtbank.<\/p>\n<h2>De termijn is kort en hard<\/h2>\n<p>Verzet moet binnen een korte wettelijke termijn na de betekening van het vonnis. Die termijn vervalt onherroepelijk. Ontvangt u een vonnis of een deurwaardersexploot, laat de datum dan meteen nakijken \u2014 wachten kost u het rechtsmiddel.<\/p>\n<h2>Wat levert verzet op?<\/h2>\n<p>Uw zaak wordt volledig opnieuw beoordeeld, nu m\u00e9t uw verdediging. Dat is vaak het verschil tussen een straf op papier en een straf die rekening houdt met uw situatie.<\/p>\n<h2>Verzet of hoger beroep?<\/h2>\n<p>Verzet geldt tegen een verstekvonnis, hoger beroep tegen een vonnis op tegenspraak.
